• We had a wonderful trip to Milburn Orchards on Friday. Thank you again to all the chaperones!

• We are working on spelling –ut and –ug words this week.

• High Frequency words this week are: are does he they where

• Our strategy focus in reading this week is summarization. This includes who is in the story, where it takes place, what the problem is, and what the solution is. You can have your child summarize some of the books you read at home!

• In math we are taking class surveys and representing that data with pictures, numbers, and words. Ask your child what survey question we answered today.

• In science last week we experimented with the temperature of water using thermometers. We continue our study of temperature early this week and then move onto our study of rain.

• October reading logs are due this Friday. Remember, if your child has 15 or more days of reading, I will be sending home a coupon for a free personal pizza from Pizza Hut’s Book It Program. I will also have them for November’s reading logs, so keep reading!
